Our FAQ below are designed to help make an often daunting process less formidable and more of a mission you embrace with passion, enthusiasm and confidence, attributes that are attractive to any prospective employer.

How Does This Process Work?

All prospective clients are offered a complimentary, no-charge initial consultation over the phone, which generally runs 15-20 minutes. As a sole proprietorship, that means you get to speak with the President & CEO, who will want to listen to your career aspirations, your professional development goals, and your expectations about what you hope to get from a potential client relationship. He will answer your questions about the dynamics of today's job environment, the firm's unique approach to client service, and anything else about how we do what we do.

What Happens Next?

If you wish to have Resume Revision revamp your resume, we then discuss timelines, scope of work, and schedule a time to meet for those clients who choose interview preparation or executive coaching services. For those clients who want to start with the resume first, or who want a resume only, we then ask you to send us your current CV via email for use in our diagnostic assessment prior to beginning work on your new resume. 

What Is Your Confidentiality Policy?

Maintaining client confidentiality is a critical component of Resume Revision's policies. That's why we never list names, just initials, with testimonials on the home page of our website, or post "before" and "after" examples of our work online. For those clients who wish to see samples of transformed resumes, we black out any identifying characteristics of the sample pieces, and never use samples or testimonials without any client's consent. Likewise, with Resume Revision's Special Reports, we expect clients to reciprocate by showing the firm the same respect for confidentiality, because the intellectual property in those reports is not to be shared with others.

Can I Get What I Need Without An Office Visit?

The vast majority of Resume Revision clients never need a scheduled office appointment. We understand the sensitivity and need for convenience of those who want to use our services while currently employed. In that spirit, the firm has built a system around client needs emphasizing ease of communications telephonically and ease of document delivery electronically. We also work evenings and weekends to ensure that clients need not disrupt their workdays. For those clients interested in executive coaching, we recommend face-to-face meetings, given the importance of non-verbal communication and body language during the actual interview. This service is provided at our suburban Alexandria, Virginia headquarters, and is also available during evening and weekend hours.

What Is The Typical Turnaround Time?

Generally, clients can expect a new resume will be delivered within one to two weeks of retaining our services. But we can turn around entire packages that include a new resume, a generic cover letter and a generic thank-you letter within 48 hours for a mere 20 percent rush surcharge.

What Is Your Referral Upgrade Premium?

Resume Revision does not advertise. We rely on our reputation, word-of-mouth referrals, and charity auction donations to generate new business. Any client who refers a friend, family member, or colleague who in turn invests in our services, receives a free copy of one of our special reports, such as The Secrets of Salary Negotiations, How To Prepare For The Perfect Interview, or The Answers To The Toughest Interview Questions.

What Package Discounts Do You Offer?

Resume Revision will happily bundle service packages at a discount depending on a client's needs. We offer several Executive Service Packages at already discounted prices, and will work with clients to create customized packages at special discount rates.

What Is Your Payment Policy?

Resume Revision accepts PayPal, money orders, personal checks, certified or cashier's checks, or cash payment for services rendered. We will soon offer credit card payment in response to client demands. We begin work the moment we receive a deposit, generally 50 percent in advance, with the remaining balance invoiced upon completion and delivery to clients of work products. Given the nature of our business, we understand that clients might be undergoing temporary cash flow challenges, and adjust payment policies accordingly on a case-by-case basis when the situation merits.
